Final Presentation available for NAVISP EL1-115 bis " ADAS Technology and PNT "

On the 3rd of July 2026 acitoflux GmbH presented the results of NAVISP-EL1-115 bis, which addresses the increasing relevance of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies as critical enablers for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD). 

The activity led to the recommendation of future projects through a structured process:

• Review of the State of the Art
• Identification of AD/ADAS applications
• Gap Analysis

Two of the major trends found were the transition from “accuracy” to “trust” and the usage of alternative sensors complementing GNSS. With these trends in mind, 49 use cases were defined and 24 short listed, and ultimately few possible projects for the future were identified, among which “Low Earth Orbit augmentation for urban lane level” for R&D, “Vehicle positioning, Assured geolocation appliance for teleoperation fallback” for Competitiveness and “National Low-Visibility and Heavy-Rain PNT Validation Framework for Automated Mobility” in support to Member States initiatives.

This is the first study completed on the subject. The result of a parallel contract will be presented on the 02/09/2026.
