The Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography and Cartography (RIGTC) has over 60 years of history, and it is the central institute for geodetic research in the Czech Republic. It is involved in basic and applied research in geodesy, surveying and cartography, development and testing of new techniques and software in the following fields geodesy and geodynamics, among others. Geodetic observatory Pecný (GOP) is the main part of the Department of Geodesy and Geodynamics of the RIGTC, and it is involved in the fundamental and applied research in space geodesy (including GNSS and DORIS techniques), Earth’s gravity field, mathematical modelling (potential theory),and gravimetry.
