Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale

Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale is a cluster origanization that promote and support the development of the regional, national and European innovation capacity. Its members are the main private and public organizations operating in the aerospace technology domain (Leonardo, GE Aviation, SITAEL, Planetek, Exprivia, Università del Salento, Università di Bari, Politecnico di Bari, …). DTA prepares, leads and participates in regional, national and European R&I projects in line with the main aerospace development and growth strategies. One of the main objectives of DTA, that is in the focus of AURORA project, is the development of a research and experimentation technological infrastructure joint with the experimental airport of Grottaglie (Taranto, Italy) to support UAS manufacturers and operators as well as UAM/AAM operators and service providers in developing, experimenting and demonstrating products and services. DTA is working in a quadruple helix approach so that the innovation initiatives involve researchers (to support development of new knowledge and competence and transferring experience into education programs), industry (to develop innovative products and services), end users (to favor the realization of problem-driven and user-center innovative solutions) and institutions (to support the commercialization of innovative solutions).
