On June 2nd the NAVISP Team attended the event organised in Trondheim by the Norwegian Space Agency and SINTEF. Scope of the day was to share the Norwegian success projects in NAVISP and to promote Phase 3 of the Programme to be subscribed at CMIN22. The fruitful meeting with 25 participants from the most representative PNT Norwegian companies was followed by a visit to the SINTEF Ocean Lab and the Trondheim Test Area, an excellence for Norway which is equipped through the NAVISP Element 3 activity.

Sintef and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) launched the second of two observation buoys in the Trondheim Fjord to collect real time sea data in order to provide an increased environmental understanding , test different sensors, contribute to education and scientific communication. It is another step towards the setting up of the first experimental ocean basin in Europe. The buoy data will also be used together with the equipment developed and installed through the NAVISP project to test vessel autonomy in different scenarios. The Trondheim Test Area is indeed a local priority for the highly advanced scientific Trondheim area.
