Europe’s space industry met at ESTEC on 28-29 September for ESA’s 10th Industry Space Days (ISD). ISD is organised by the SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) Office in the Directorate of Commercialisation, Industry and Procurement, to foster cooperation between different actors in the entire space sector. The event was opened by Director General Josef Aschbacher and featured presentations by ESA Directors on the upcoming ESA Council Meeting at Ministerial level (CM22) programme proposals and emerging business opportunities for industry.

The event enabled the NAVISP team to meet new industry contacts and exchange ideas with companies throughout the space sector. Companies could pre-arrange meetings, and the NAVISP team met several new companies this way, as well as speaking to visitors at the NAVISP booth in the ‘ESA village’, a common ESA exhibition area. The team also met new companies at their own booths, potentially leading to new collaborations and PNT ideas.

At the ISD conference section, the NAVISP programme was highlighted in a presentation titled “NAVISP Phase 3: a programme for the European PNT sector”, given by the NAVISP team. This conference section included presentations and panel discussions from ESA, industry, investors, and institutional partners. The conference presentations were livestreamed on ESA WebTV Channel 2 and everyone could participate using the social media hashtag #ISD2022ESA.
