GMV Poland has been developing expertise in Software Defined Radio (SDR) receivers for space applications during the last five years with the GNSSW and GNSSW-LEON4 feasibility and prototyping activities with ESA/ESTEC. In order to push forward the innovative solutions developed up to now and speed up the commercialization with a higher TRL, the NAVISP Element 2 programme has been chosen with a product belonging to the Positioning Navigation and Timing User Segment. The GNSSW receiver is designed mainly for launcher applications and orbital applications in Low Earth Orbit. A dual frequency receiver is required for “advanced” Precise Orbit Determination (POD), formation flying centimetre accuracy navigation in particular for future expected commercial and ESA missions (e.g.: ADR, on-orbit servicing, RACE).
