111 - NAV-SSHE - Navigation Sensor Switching in Hostile Environments

Status: On Going

Activity Code: NAVISP-EL2-111

Start date: 01/09/2021

Duration: 16 Months

NAV-SSHE aims at designing, prototyping and demonstrating new solutions for PNT using 5G and GNSS in combination for critical applications, in hostile environments. Safety-critical for their nature involve human lives; consequently, they must have a high level of reliability and availability as well as be resilient to external factors. The project targets, in particular, this second aspect, proposing a solution that enables an enhanced level of robustness to external attacks on the 5G and GNSS sensors, an improvement of the performance of 5G or GNSS thanks to hybridisation and provides means to warn the user about potential degrading performances.
The activity targets two demonstration scenarios, namely port operations for autonomous docking and airports for autonomous mowing.
