291 - LEOPNT ODTS+
Status: On Going
Activity Code: NAVISP-EL2-291
Start date: 03/11/2026
Duration: 14 Months
The project is a direct continuation of NAVISP-EL2-175 LEO PNT ODTS. The objective is to develop the main on-board navigation unit for the LEO-PNT satellites. The high-precision on-board GNSS receivers provide POD in real-time, using a disciplined oscillator aligning the satellite time to Galileo System Time. It also analyses the user segment, characterizing the performance of the LEO PNT in the precise PPP positioning, evaluating the improvements in availability and convergence time.
The precursor activity NAVISP-EL2-175 is to achieve TRL-4. This activity is to quickly achieve TRL-6, in time for the FutureNav LEO PNT demonstration. We will develop the Flight Model (FM) of a multi-constellation, multi-frequency spaceborne receiver product, referred to as G3P2Star, designed to meet the demands of the LEO PNT system. It will be qualified, therefore it will actually be a Qualification model (QM). G3P2Star for LEO PNT aims to bridge the gap between current low-end and high-end GNSS space receiver solutions, providing a high-performance, autonomous, cutting-edge navigation payload at an affordable cost, suitable for both individual spacecraft and large constellations.
