317 - Real-time detection and localization of GNSS spoofing and jamming using telecom infrastructure
Status: On Going
Activity Code: NAVISP-EL2-317
Start date: 09/03/2026
Duration: 12 Months
The project focuses on real‑time detection and localization of GNSS spoofing and jamming using dense telecom infrastructure as a distributed sensor network. By monitoring timing deviations, signal anomalies, and interference patterns across many closely spaced nodes, the system can rapidly identify and triangulate malicious sources. In lower airspace—where drones, air taxis, and critical services depend on reliable PNT—and for remotely controlled ground operations, high‑density “network as a sensor” capabilities become essential, providing continuous situational awareness and resilient protection against GNSS disruptions.
