Airbus Defence and Space is one of the three divisions of Airbus, pursuing Airbus´ activities in space, military aircraft, communication, intelligence and security, and unmanned aerial systems. It is Europe´s No. 1 defence and space company. All Airbus space activities are grouped under the business line Space Systems, fully dedicated to space, with operations in Germany, France, UK and Spain. Space Systems is a global industry leader in satellite and ground systems for Earth Observation, Navigation, Science, Telecommunication, On-orbit services and Exploration. Moreover, it is a recognised provider of space equipment. As co-shareholder of ArianeGroup (until recently Airbus Safran Launchers), it is also engaged in the European prime for space transportation and in the business of propulsion systems. The Space Systems business line is represented by a dedicated legal entity in each of the countries it operates in. These entities are Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Germany, Airbus Defence and Space Limited in the UK, Airbus Defence and Space SAS in France, and Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Spain.
