ALTEC S.p.A. (Aerospace Logistics Technology Engineering Company) is an Italian center for the provision of engineering and logistics services to support operations and utilization of the International Space Station and the development and implementation of planetary exploration missions. It is a public-private company owned by one of the major European space company, Thales Alenia Space (major shareholder) and the Italian Space Agency, ASI. ALTEC is based in Turin and has liaison offices at NASA and ESA. Its services ranging from engineering and logistics support for ISS, training of astronauts, mission control of planetary rovers, mission control of small-satellites missions, engineering services for development of space experiments, processing of satellites’ scientific data, development and management of ground segment for space programs and, finally, the promotion of space culture. Today the company count 74 employees. The main ALTEC Business Processes have been certified according to the requirements of EN 9100 and ISO 9001. In 2016 ALTEC has been certified according to the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for the service provision related to the utilization of mission operations and data processing centers. The company governance is presented in the following figure. ALTEC has a strong background on ground segment design, development, implementation and operation, including in particular data analysis. This has been gained having performed activities on several projects and missions as hereafter briefly reported.
