UPT was founded in 1920. It is focused on engineering technical faculties only, and at present has 15,000 students and 950 teaching stuff. UPT specializes among other things in digital signal processing. The previous experience of UPT team consists in signal and image processing, computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, denoising, image segmentation, resulting in many PhDs and scientific papers.

UPT is responsible for the fish eye and vision image processing, and leads the payload design and development for integration on board the UAV.
