Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography
The Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGiK) is the central Polish government administration body for geodesy and cartography. It performs tasks specified in the Geodetic and Cartographic Law and in Act on spatial information infrastructure. The president of GUGiK is the Surveyor General of Poland. GUGiK was established in 1945 and operates under the auspices of Ministry of Development and Technology. In 2008, the GUGiK launched ASG-EUPOS system, a network of permanent GNSS reference stations providing services for precise positioning and navigation for geodesy, land surveying, construction and agriculture users. The ASG-EUPOS system is currently operating 150 reference stations with the coverage of the whole territory of Poland and all reference stations are tracking GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou signals.
