The AGH University of Krakow is a technical university, which scientific activities cover large range of disciplines, including electronics, telecommunications and computer sciences among others.
Every year, AGH signs approximately 100 agreements, letters of intent and cooperation agreements with industry, administration and business environment institutions. The university implements approximately 1,000 research and development agreements annually, more than half of which are commissions from industry.
AGH's innovative potential is based on its intellectual property, which is reflected in the number of patents, trademarks, utility models, accumulated know-how and the experience of its researchers and students. Each year, the university obtains several dozen patents and grants several dozen licences. AGH ranks among the top Polish institutions in terms of the number of patent applications submitted to the European Patent Office.
