Register for the Final Presentation of the NAVISP EL1 019 Project: "Ultra-Low Power Device Positioning Concepts"

GMV has investigated novel and innovative concepts to enable ultra-low energy positioning devices (ULEPD) based on space PNT systems. Specifically, this study has focus on the advantages that LEO-PNT systems could offer towards the increasing number of low power IoT-type applications, which mostly use traditional GNSS (e.g. GPS, Galileo), power-hungry devices with degrading performance in challenging scenarios.

The study has been focused on the selection of a set of use cases and targeted performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and the evaluation of the benefit that the studied concepts can provide with respect to GPS, which has been appointed as reference space-based PNT system. Within these concepts, the adoption of innovative PNT techniques making use of Doppler measurements and the adoption of innovative techniques have been studied, among others.

EL1-019 "Low Energy Optimised Positioning And Receiver Devices" was funded by NAVISP Element 1, which is dedicated to technology innovation of the European industry in the wide PNT sector.
