Register for the Final Presentation of the NAVISP EL3-023 Project: "Belgian Secure Certified UTM”

The NAVISP EL3-23 “Secure UTM” project, led by Unifly NV and Nexova Cyber S.A., aimed to create a secure Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system for safely integrating UAVs into existing airspace. The project proposed a cyber certification scheme for UTM systems, designed for use by certification bodies to ensure compliance with regulations, cybersecurity standards, and stakeholder feedback. A secure proof of concept (PoC) UTM system for Belgian airspace was developed by implementing identified mitigation measures. Extensive testing was carried out to assess the UTM system’s functionality and security, including a conformity assessment through an audit of security assurance requirements and controls. The system was further validated by simulated cybersecurity attacks conducted by penetration testers on the operational UTM platform, integrated into the demonstration testbed environment, which highlighted certain findings.

EL3-023 “Belgian Secure Certified UTM" was funded by NAVISP Element 3, which is dedicated to support participating States in their national PNT strategies, promoting the development and promotion of GNSS and PNT products.
