The activity PRIVACY-PRESERVING PNT PROCESSING SYSTEMS (Valle) was an activity carried out in scope of the NAVISP-EL1-060 Programme and conducted by the consortium of GMV Germany, GMV Romania and Romanian InSpace Engineering. The project execution took place between March 2023 and December 2024.

The project aimed at developing innovative privacy-preserving PNT processing concepts based on the use of cryptographic techniques and distributed processing architectures. With the objectives of identifying, defining and consolidating a set of use cases for privacy-preserving positioning solutions and/or services based on sharing and processing user PNT data, developing multiple privacy-preserving PNT processing concepts and designing and developing a flexible concept demonstrator for verifying and validating the proposed privacy-preserving PNT processing concepts.

The outcome of the activity is a concept demonstrator implementing three use cases based on manipulation of IQ samples, Observables and PVT data and application of Partially Homomorphic Encryption, Anonymization and Secure Multiparty Computation. The use cases were benchmarked, and the results show that application of the Privacy Preserving Techniques does not induce a deterioration of PNT solutions however requires a significant computational effort.
