Final Presentation NAVISP EL2-191 "Bridging Space and Maritime: AI's Role in Port Efficiency"
Start date: 15/05/2025 09:30
End date: 15/05/2025 11:00
The final presentation of "Bridging space and maritime: AI'S role in port efficiency" , developed by StellarShip Labs UG under ESA’s NAVISP-EL2-191 project, will summarize the outcomes of this initiative. The maritime industry is the backbone of global trade, enabling the transportation of goods efficiently over long distances. However, inefficiencies in port operations, unreliable Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) predictions, and congestion contribute to increased costs, delays, and higher carbon emissions. The ARRIVAL-X initiative, aims to revolutionize ETA prediction using Artificial Intelligence (AI), space-based navigation data, and cloud technology. ARRIVAL-X is a cloud-based, AI-powered solution designed to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waiting times, and optimize resource allocation for ports, shipping companies, and logistics providers. The system integrates Automatic Identification System (AIS) data, GPS/Galileo positioning, Copernicus Marine Service weather data, and machine learning algorithms to deliver precise and real-time ETA predictions.
This presentation will summarizes the development, implementation, testing, and impact of ARRIVAL-X, detailing how the system improves maritime efficiency and sustainability.
This project was co-funded by NAVISP Element 2, which aims to increase European Competitiveness.
