ESA Workshop on PNT Technologies and Opportunities in the NAVISP Programme

The Portuguese Space Agency and the European Space Agency have the pleasure to invite you to this workshop dedicated to opportunities for the Portuguese national ecosystem within the scope of NAVISP, ESA’s programme for innovation in PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing)  and satellite navigation systems.

NAVISP is a strategic element in the European navigation landscape, leveraging ESA’s experience in the Galileo, EGNOS, and Navigation programmes, as well as the existing industrial base in the European navigation sector.

Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies are now indispensable—from precision agriculture to autonomous vehicles, from mobile networks to space operations. They are also strategic for the resilience of the digital economy and the emergence of new global markets.

At a time when challenges such as intentional signal interference (jamming) and signal manipulation or falsification (spoofing) are intensifying, it is important to strengthen the robustness and innovation of the sector. Sensor fusion, multi-constellation systems, and alternative approaches to PNT are paving the way for safer and more effective solutions.

To delve deeper into these opportunities and explore how ESA’s NAVISP programme can support national industry in developing new products and services, the Portuguese Space Agency and ESA are organizing a one-day workshop on the topic on July 22, starting at 9:30 AM.

The programme also includes the possibility of scheduling bilateral meetings with representatives from ESA and the Portuguese Space Agency, offering a dedicated space for identifying concrete opportunities within NAVISP and clarifying questions about future applications.
