Final Presentation NAVISP EL1-058 “Demonstration of GNSS Position Bounding Using Satellite Uplinks”

The final presentation this project, developed by Thales Alenia Space France, Qascom, Kineis and Traxens under ESA’s NAVISP EL1-058, will present the outcomes and results of this initiative.

The study LocFIT (Localization For IoT), conducted under ESA’s NAVISP-EL1-058 project, has seen a consortium made of Thales Alenia Space France / Qascom / Kinéis / Traxens propose the system concepts and algorithms for an IoT constellation dedicated to a mission of secure positioning, and demonstrated the capabilities of the innovation in a Software testbed.
The use case of container tracking has been the model to define the service-level requirements and constraints on the user device.
The design activities conducted in the project include a specific protocol and ranging measurements which allow positioning robust to a variety of attacks on signals and data.
A testbed experimentation shows the performance of the designed concepts, and illustrates the promising opportunity of using space systems to tackle the container market.
