Final Presentation NAVISP EL2-232 "DroneHome2"
Start date: 26/02/2026 10:30
End date: 26/02/2026 12:00
The final presentation of the DroneHome 2 activity, performed within ESA’s NAVISP Element 2 programme (NAVISP-EL2-232), will summarise the outcomes of the project and the results achieved. DroneHome 2 addressed the problem of autonomous return-to-home and landing, with an emphasis on building navigation robustness and performance in operationally relevant and degraded environments.
The presentation will describe the DroneHome 2 system concept and architecture, focusing on a navigation and sensor-fusion solution which integrates ranging and timing information from Omnisense’s local positioning system with GNSS, inertial, and complementary onboard sensors to support autonomous guidance, final approach, and landing. Key results from field based flight simulations and trials will be presented, highlighting performance and system behaviours.
Participants will gain insight into the technical solutions developed, the level of autonomy demonstrated, and the lessons learned during system integration and testing. The presentation will also discuss how the DroneHome 2 approach can provide a foundation for wider autonomous navigation applications and identify directions for future development.
This activity was co-funded under NAVISP Element 2, which aims to increase European competitiveness in Positioning, Navigation and Timing. Please check the agenda and register for the event to learn more about this project.
