Final Presentation NAVISP EL1-089 "Modelling Quantum Sensors in a realistic navigation system context – MOQUA"

Start date:

End date:

The final presentation of the Quantum Inertial Sensors for Navigation activity, carried out by GMV together with the University of Birmingham under ESA’s NAVISP project EL1-089, will present the outcomes of this initiative. The project investigated the potential of cold-atom interferometry (CAI) quantum inertial sensors to improve navigation performance during GNSS disruptions. Using a validated simulation model integrated within an end-to-end PNT environment, the activity assessed hybrid classical IMU–CAI navigation across different sensor grades, platform dynamics and vibration conditions. The presentation will highlight the main performance drivers and limitations identified and the conditions under which quantum inertial sensing can provide a measurable navigation benefit.

You will gain insight into the realistic potential of quantum inertial sensors for resilient PNT, as well as the key challenges and priorities for their further development.

This activity was fully funded under NAVISP Element 1, which aims to advance European innovation in Positioning, Navigation and Timing. Please check the agenda and register for the event to learn more about this project.
