RF INTERFERENCE MONITORING FOR CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AT A GLANCE. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE FINAL PRESENTATION OF NAVISP EL3-014 "GNSS EVENT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM (GENS)"

Start date: 08/06/2022 14:00

End date: 08/06/2022 15:30

GNSSs are susceptible to RF interference, generated locally with off-the-shelf equipment. More rarely, GNSSs can generate errors on their own.
The GNSS Event Notification System (GENS) has created an initial UK national demonstration capability for GNSS threats notification that is robust and secure. In addition, GENS is acting as a catalyst to create a national centre for GNSS service threat identification and response. In support of the objective, GENS has provided guidance to widen the national understanding of the threats and vulnerabilities associated with using GNSS to derive resilient PNT. This was aimed at allowing informed requirements development, procurement, deployment and support for GNSS reliant PNT services by the UK.
The GNSS Event Notification System (GENS) project has developed a pre-Operational System-of-Systems demonstrator to manage GNSS threats and vulnerabilities for critical infrastructure and consist of:

  • a GNSS Guidance Document for GNSS threats and vulnerabilities management;
  • a GENS technology demonstrator system of systems to enable the management of the GNSS events, supported by a GENS business transformation service activity managing the requirements of the GENS technology demonstrator.

The GENS project was part of NAVISP Element 3 which is focused on participating States’ priorities and aims at supporting their national navigation activities along the whole value chain.
