Final Presentation Advanced Medium Earth Orbit Search and Rescue Test Beacon Setup

On 25th July 2025, Thales Alenia Space France delivered the final presentation of the NAVISP‑EL1‑070 Advanced MEOSAR Test Beacon Setup (AMTBS) project, concluding a multi‑year effort to develop a phased‑array Transmitter beacon capable of generating per‑satellite MEOSAR signals with controlled delay and Doppler shifts to emulate moving beacons for Cospas‑Sarsat MEOSAR testing.

The team defined system requirements, designed and built a 32‑element Digital Beam Forming Network Transmitter planar antenna, SDR front‑end, calibration algorithms and performance‑evaluation software. They validated successfully emission patterns, end‑to‑end detection rates and localization accuracy through far‑field and dynamic tests.
