On 20th August 2025, DiMOS Operations GmbH delivered the final presentation of the NAVISP EL2-156 “Nav4FutureMobility” (N4FM) project, a pioneering initiative to enable safe and secure autonomous mobility through advanced PNT technologies. The project aimed to develop a prototype Technical Supervision System compliant with German and EU regulations for Level 4 automated driving.

The system integrates GNSS and simulated LEO-PNT signals to enhance positioning accuracy, reliability, and integrity. A modular Navigation Simulator developed by ANavS GmbH generated high-fidelity GNSS and LEO-PNT data, including multipath effects, signal faults, and atmospheric delays. The simulator’s Performance Module implemented fault detection and exclusion (FDE) and Protection Level (PL) calculations, while MQTT-based data streaming enabled real-time monitoring via the Mobility Data Center (MDC).

Testing included hardware-in-the-loop and real-world trials across multiple scenarios. Results showed consistent performance gains with LEO-PNT integration, including up to 75% reduction in vertical error under degraded conditions. The system demonstrated resilience against jamming and spoofing, validated alignment between simulation and field data, and laid the groundwork for remote supervision of autonomous vehicles.

The project was supported by NAVISP Element 2. A follow-up initiative, SoLPOINT (EL2-245), will extend these capabilities to automated trucks in partnership with MAN Truck & Bus.
