The GNSS Event Notification Service (GENS) project funded under the NAVISP Element 3, in support of national strategic interests and priorities, was presented by the prime contractor CGI UK Ltd within the session devoted to “Robust and Resilient PNT” at the Navigation 2021 conference, organised by EUGIN and the Royal Institute of Navigation on 15-18 November 2021. This year hybrid event mixed The European Navigation Conference and The International Navigation Conference together, putting Navigation and Timing on stage because of their critical contribution to the world we inhabit.
GENS is a prototype service designed to detect and identify Radio Frequency interference which could be harmful to GNSSs in the UK, possibly indicating potential mitigation actions. A Guidance procurement and installation document for system integrators and a test bench to validate operators solutions is part of the offered services.
Please find the video of the presentation here. GENS part commences at around the 16 minute mark.
