Road Sounder is a smart network of low-cost devices that can be installed onboard vehicles to continuously monitor the road pavement status at the surveyed area by means of accelerometer readings combined with GNSS positioning. Tens, hundreds, thousands of devices become a single cell of an autonomous monitoring network. Data is aggregated to extract real-time information and perform pavement degradation prediction. Road condition output results can be exploited by Public Administrations, private companies, maintenance service providers and generic users for an improved level of service, a lower expenditure and an enhanced driving experience.
