119 - Real-time S-GNSS Receiver
Status: Completed
Activity Code: NAVISP-EL2-119
Start date: 01/05/2022
Real-time S-GNSS® receiver
This project is to design and build a real-time SDR (software defined receiver) enabled with Supercorrelation™ technology. This S-GNSS receiver can provide increased accuracy, sensitivity and reliability compared to standard GNSS receivers. Supercorrelation measures satellite signals based on angle-of-arrival, enabling rejection of unwanted signals from reflections (multipath), noise or intentional interference (jamming and spoofing). This GNSS upgrade can be applied to existing GNSS hardware, using software alone, without the need for expensive or large hardware.
In an automotive application, this solves the complexities of accurate and safe GNSS positioning in challenging environments, vastly improving GNSS accuracy and reliability in cities, under foliage or when using constrained antenna designs such as concealed antennas. S-GNSS also provides resilience against RF interference or spoofing attacks, enhancing cyber-security. S-GNSS has further applications in the wearables and mobile industries.
