133 - RHEA DOVER PATHFINDER MISSION
Status: On Going
Activity Code: NAVISP-EL2-133
Start date: 01/04/2022
Duration: 13 Months
The RHEA DOVER-Pathfinder (DOVER) mission aims to demonstrate a novel resilient GNSS capability from Low Earth Orbit (LEO). The DOVER-Pathfinder (DOVER) mission consists of an innovative PNT waveform designed by RHEA-UK; the RHEA DOVER satellite utilising the expertise, integration and test, and rapid time to space of the Open-Cosmos bus, MAIT, and flight control systems; a DOVER ground receiver station; DOVER waveform processing software; and a full DOVER constellation software simulator. The RHEA DOVER satellite will take off on board the Virgin Orbit launcher from Spaceport Cornwall in the UK, in 2022. The DOVER-Pathfinder mission is co-funded through the European Space Agency’s (ESA’s) NAVISP programme. The DOVER-Pathfinder mission will provide R&D results for the DOVER waveform devised by RHEA-UK engineers and will be used to confirm the performance in providing a solution for secure resilient LEO GNSS-based PNT services.
