DroneHome refers to the adaptation and integration of a ground-based location system from Omnisense Ltd (UK) that is being adapted to provide pseudoranges in real-time into a high performance drone navigation solution (from Kiteswarms Ltd). The resulting product will be a disruptive combination of relatively low-cost COTS sensors and software that will meet the requirements of availability, integrity and accuracy to enable reliable highly autonomous drone operation for safety critical autonomous applications. The first application for Dronehome is an Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) system where the project team is creating an autonomous and commercially viable navigation solution that is accurate enough to allow precise landing on both ground and elevated landing platforms, even in case of GNSS outages.
