098 - Metrics to Assess the Performance of GNSS Authentication Schemes (PEGASO)
Status: On Going
Activity Code: NAVISP-EL1-098
Start date: 21/03/2025
Duration: 18 Months
The core objective of the project PEGASO (PErformance of GNSS Auth Schemes by IndicatOrs) is to develop and validate a standardized methodology for evaluating GNSS anti-spoofing mechanisms and receiver implementations. This involves the realization of an end-to-end testbed that contains real and SDR receivers and a versatile simulation engine capable of generating navigations signals in realistic conditions.
The simulator will be capable of supporting interference scenarios such as jamming and spoofing, and it will also allow simulating navigation signals such as GNSS and SBAS including the authentication features, such as the Galileo OSNMA or GPS Chimera.
On the other hand, receivers will be able to support the authentication features (if available in the market) and multiple anti-spoofing mechanisms. The SDR solution will be adopted to assess performance in conditions that cannot be verified with COTS devices.
