The project aims to develop an integrated system for communication, guidance, and control for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) by using communication signals from LEO Communications constellations opportunistically for navigation purposes, to enable navigation in GNSS-denied circumstances. The project involves the development of three main components: a user terminal antenna with hybrid beamforming, an antenna control unit (ACU) that integrates PNT and beamforming algorithms, and a UAV autopilot that incorporates the position information from the ACU. All three of these components are to be escalated from approximately TRL3-4 to TRL6-7 for pre-operational deployment.
