The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, UAB, was founded in 1968. It is therefore a young university, but in its short history it has moved forward at a rapid pace. At present, UAB is a comprehensive University covering all main disciplines, ranking the 1st university in Spain in research productivity (ISSUE 2015) and the 2nd best university in Spain (rankings: QS WUR 2014-15, ARWU 2014, I-UGR 2014). The Signal Processing for Communications and Navigation (SPCOMNAV) research group belongs to the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering of UAB. The group has a solid expertise in R&D projects, mainly in the design of GPS and Galileo receivers for operation in hostile environments. Some of the members of SPCOMNAV were the pioneers in the adoption of array signal processing techniques for interference and multipath cancellation in GNSS receivers. This is a fundamental aspect in safety-critical applications such as on-board GPS/EGNOS receivers for aviation. The group is currently implementing a high-sensitivity software receiver for GPS-Galileo.
