SINTEF Digital conducts research and innovation in digital technologies and technology-oriented social sciences. Autonomous systems, AI, robotics and drones constitute strategic areas for SINTEF Digital and we have for several years delivered successful projects both with academia and industry within these areas – both nationally and internationally. We are operating with robotics from ocean space to outer space, where industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, energy, search and rescue, space, ICT and inspection and maintenance have been particular industry focus areas. Concrete technologies and areas in which we have key research-based competence on include, but are not limited to, machine learning, AI, machine vision, robot localization and navigation, user-centred design and evaluation, data management / Big Data, Internet of Services and Internet of Things technologies, cloud computing, model-driven development, quality and security technology, system integration and use-case analysis.
