University of West Bohemia

The University of West Bohemia (UWB) was founded in 1991 by the merger of then well-established higher education institutions located in the city of Pilsen. From then on, it has experienced dynamic development in both STEM and SSH disciplines. Today, the UWB is the regional leader in the sector of higher education and one of the best universities in the Czech Republic. UWB is an active participant in research projects on both the national and international level. The UWB team at Department of Cybernetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, focuses on development of state estimation, fault detection and exclusion, system identification, and navigation algorithms. The team closely cooperates with companies on development of reliable navigation systems (in terms of navigation information integrity) for aerospace and railway applications.
