University of Padova
The University of Padova is one of the largest and oldest Universities of Europe, being founded in 1222, with many Departments of world-recognized excellence. It is home to more than 60,000 students, employing 2,100 permanent faculty and 2,300 permanent administrative staff.
The Department of Information Engineering (DEI) hosts 4000 students in its Bachelor and Master programs and 200 PhD students, employing 180 faculty. It is most active in international top-level research activities having been consistently ranked among the best in Italy in its discipline since the introduction of the national ranking. Its research areas and teaching programs include Electronics, Automation, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Bioengineering, Measurement Techniques, Physics, and Operation Research.
The Telecommunications research group has carried out a decade long collaboration with ESA ad other European institutions and companies on the topics of Satellite Navigation
