TU Delft

The Delft University of Technology, founded in 1842, is the largest technical university in the Netherlands, and it covers practically the entire spectrum of engineering sciences. It ranks amongst the top universities in the world in the field of technology, and it is a member of the ‘IDEA League’, a strategic alliance of five European leading technical universities. As October 2022, TU Delft counts around 28’000 students (undergraduate & postgraduate), with eight faculties and multiple research institutes employing more than 3’000 doctoral candidates and almost 300 (FTE) full professors.

The Mathematical Geodesy and Positioning (MGP) research group, part of the Geoscience and Remote Sensing (GRS) department, has built up its strong expertise on the topics of estimation techniques, statistical testing, data quality control, GNSS precise positioning algorithms for ground-based and space-based users, along with the development in the 1990s of the Least-squares AMBiguity Decorrelation Adjustment (LAMBDA) method widely used for integer ambiguity resolution.
