Inter-university Consortium of Applied Physical Sciences (CISFA)

CISFA Consortium is addressed to Physics, Mathematics and derived technologies. The research topics related to the macro area of "Experimental Physics" concern, to a significant extent, the integrated use of experimental investigation techniques, such as the diffusion of laser light and infrared absorption in Fourier transform, neutron scattering, with experiments carried out at the ISIS Facility (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory), the Berlin Neutron Scattering Center (BENSC, Hahn-Meitner-Institut), the Laboratoire Léon Brillouin (LLB) in Saclay-Paris, the Institute Laue Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, and at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL, USA). The CISFA Consortium activities also encompass the field of Physics of the atmosphere, dealing with the physical phenomena that manifest themselves in the atmosphere.

The Consortium shares some activities and laboratories with the Department of Mathematical and Informatics Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences (MIFT)
