Register for Final Presentation of the NAVISP EL2-126 Activity: "SEMOR 3D"
In this upcoming final presentation, Si Consulting will conclude the SEMOR-3D project, a breakthrough in enhancing railway worker safety in challenging environments such as mountainous regions and urban canyons where GNSS reliability is limited. Building on over 20 years of expertise and the initial SEMOR project supported by NAVISP, SEMOR-3D integrates 3D modelling and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology with GNSS to achieve precise worker localization. The project evolved from utilizing 3D maps and real-time video recognition to adopting drone-generated 3D models and UWB, ensuring accurate tracking even in areas with poor satellite coverage. Comprehensive testing on the Genova Casella Railway line demonstrated significant improvements in safety and operational efficiency. The presentation will also cover future developments aimed at commercializing the SEMOR-3D prototype, including integration with Advanced Train Warning Systems (ATWS), train detection devices, acoustic alarms, and railway interlocking systems. SEMOR-3D sets a new standard in railway worker protection and operational reliability.
The NAVISP EL2-126 project “SEMOR 3D” was funded by NAVISP Element 2, which is devoted to supporting competitiveness of European industries.
