Heads up for NAVISP Final Presentation on 06/12/21, learn how a SW defined radio receiver goes onboard a micro-launcher

The objective of the GNSSW-MLMSC project was to continue the development of SW defined GNSS Receiver for space application initiated by GMV Innovating Solutions Sp. z o.o. In particular, the output of the EL2-022 activities is an adaptation of the previously developed solution for a micro-launcher application (with additional redefinition of the SW architecture) and to develop a product that will fly on the maiden flight of the PLD Space MIURA1 launcher.

The GNSSW-MLMSC project was focused on the development and validation of the Single-Frequency GNSS SW Receiver and the evaluation of the project continuation by proof of concept for the Dual-Frequency SW Receiver version.
The following Consortium was involved in the activity:

  •  GMV Innovating Solutions [PL] as Prime and SW responsible
  •  CBK / PAN [PL] as HW and Environmental Tests responsible
  •  Hertz Systems [PL] as Performance and EMC tests Responsible


The design is based on a Zynq SoC implementation where the SW-based solution is executed, and coupled with Front- End board developed in house. The consortium developed, produced and tested the solution for both hardware and software units. A thorough test campaigns, including environmental tests and EMC based on tailored ECSS standards, was executed. An FM unit has been already provided to the MIURA1 launcher avionic bay team, continuing with their integration tests.
