On 15 May, NAVISP participated in an industry outreach event hosted by the Hungarian National Delegation at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), bringing together 25 participants from the Hungarian space and industrial ecosystem. The event provided a valuable platform to strengthen engagement with national stakeholders and highlight opportunities within the NAVISP programme.

The Deputy State Secretary and Head of the Hungarian Delegation, Mr. Szabolcs Szolnoki, opened the session by outlining Hungary’s strategic ambitions in the space sector explaining the rationale behind the participation and subscriptions in ESA programmes. The presentation emphasised the country’s focus on innovation, industrial growth, and the development of competitive capabilities through targeted investments in space technologies and specific sectors.

The NAVISP team delivered an overview of the programme, detailing its objectives, funding mechanisms, and opportunities for industry to develop novel Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solutions. The session aimed to clarify how Hungarian entities can leverage NAVISP to enhance their technological maturity and market positioning, whilst explaining the different mechanisms to apply, depending on the industrial situation.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation by C3S, showcasing their NAVISP-supported project WISDOM - Wise Integration of Satellites PNT tracking Data using OWL for collision avoidance Management. The company introduced a concept for a system designed to automate satellite collision manoeuvres using their OWL product (Orbital Whereabout Locator), an independent unit estimating satellite locations using GNSS and inter-satellite link to understand the relative location between them.

The event concluded with dedicated discussions between some of the industry representatives interested to propose NAVISP projects, the Hungarian Delegation, and the NAVISP team. Topics included GNSS resilience technologies such as anti-jamming and anti-spoofing, as well as alternative PNT solutions targeting diverse sectors including automotive, logistics, and geodetics. The exchanges reflected the high capabilities of the Hungarian industry and their interest in advancing innovative PNT applications within Europe.

The event was preceded by participation of the NAVISP Team on the “World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2026” conference that took place on the 14 May 2026 in  Györ, organized by the Hungarian National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH). At the event, ESA  presented the contributions of the various navigation programmes to PNT resilience in preparation of the “International PNT Resilience workshop” that will take place on the 1st June 2026 in Budapest.
