127 - Cloud-based Snapshot RTK
Status: Completed
Activity Code: NAVISP-EL2-127
Start date: 10/05/2022
This project will result in a cloud-based snapshot receiver that can provide users with high-precision positioning using real-time kinematics (RTK) algorithms. The system is one of its kind where snapshots of raw (i.e., I&Q) samples are transmitted from a receiver to a cloud server for processing. The receiver can be as simple as a radiofrequency (RF) frontend with connectivity to the internet. Once the server receives the snapshot, the proprietary Albora algorithms extract the necessary information to be processed with standard RTK algorithms. Additionally, the cloud connects to Albora’s network of reference stations to feed RTK algorithms with the required data. Altogether, the resulting system can provide high-precision positioning (i.e., cm-level) to assets that might require sporadic positioning, such as devices on the Internet of Things (IoT).
