VESTA Project intends to realize a drone-based system for real-time traffic monitoring on a Smart Road environment, designed with a very high level of cyber resilience, to ensure a safe, secure and reliable service anytime. The core of VESTA System consists in VESTA Dashboard, i.e. a web-based interface providing the access to road traffic data on behalf of different users (infrastructure managers, road users, UAV operators). A secured web server hosts the IT data and algorithms and also operates as a bridge between the drone and the VESTA Dashboard for drone remote control. The system also includes a secured database where all relevant acquired data is safely stored. Finally, one or more UAVs will be operated remotely to overfly the Smart Road, to acquire automatically image and video data on traffic.
