The G.L.I.M.S. – Grimaldi Lab for Innovation in Maritime and Space is a pioneering initiative aimed at becoming a national and European hub for maritime innovation, strengthening synergies between shipping and the space sector. Located within the Grimaldi Group’s facility in Naples, the Lab will bring together maritime stakeholders, technology providers, universities, research centres and public authorities to develop advanced solutions for the sector.

Its objective is to accelerate energy-efficient, sustainable and technologically advanced maritime operations, supporting green technologies, innovative navigation systems and autonomous ship  functionalities in line with European decarbonisation goals and ESA NAVISP priorities.

The Lab will include modular facilities for simulation, AR/VR, 3D printing, CFD, electronics, digital innovation and a Virtual Research Environment for AI, cloud-based research and big data analysis.
