Universität der Bundeswehr München (UniBw M)
The Navigation Group at the Bundeswehr University Munich (UniBw M) resides within the Space Systems Research Centre FZ-SPACE (https://www.unibw.de/space/) and is part of the Institute of Space Technology and Space Applications (ISTA - https://www.unibw.de/lrt9). It is led by Prof. Thomas Pany and part of the Faculty of Aero-space Engineering (LRT). Approximately 15 full time researchers are working there. The Institute covers a wide range of applications and research topics in the field of navigation including theory, system analysis, sensor fusion, algorithms and software, as well as pro-totype system development. In 1983, the navigation group of UniBw M started building up expertise and experience with GPS including RTK techniques and integration of GNSS with inertial navigation systems (INS). Ever since then it played an active role in advancing the art of navigation with special emphasizes to the development and optimisation of Europe's Satellite Navigation System Galileo and of multi-sensor navigation receivers/systems for numerous applications.
