DLR Earth Observation Center, Remote Sensing Technology Institute

The DLR Earth Observation Centre is composed of the German Remote Sensing Data Centre (DFD) and the Remote Sensing Technology Institute (IMF) of DLR and has about 350 staff in Oberpfaffenhofen and Neustrelitz, with additional working groups in Bremen and Berlin. It is strongly liaised to universities (especially Munich and Würzburg) as well as doing projects and operations for and with commercial partners. The management is certified according to ISO 9000:2001. The institutes have long lasting experiences in carrying out research and development of remote sensing technologies with an emphasis on methodologies, techniques, algorithms, and processing systems for retrieval of geo-relevant information from remote sensing data; in particular for scientific use and land surface, marine and atmospheric applications.
