Cranfield University
Cranfield University is an exclusively postgraduate university specialising in technology and management research whilst demonstrating global leadership in the quality of its education provision (both to students and to executive-level professionals). Cranfield is number one in the UK for training and producing engineering and technology postgraduates, ranked number one for defence education and fourth for mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering education in the UK. The aerospace theme represents one of the largest academic centres in Western Europe for strategic applied research, development and design within aerospace. This is represented by a number of advanced facilities, tools and expertise in the field, including capabilities unique to Cranfield, and several close commercial partnerships with companies, including Airbus, BAE Systems, Thales, Boeing and Rolls Royce. The aerospace theme at Cranfield has also seen significant University investment over recent years, including the development of a new £35m Aerospace Integration Research Centre, the £65m Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC) leading the research in digital aviation technologies. Cranfield University - also host to the Multi-User Environment for Autonomous Vehicle Innovation (MUEAVI) facility - a £9M experimental facility for the rapid development, testing and validation of ground and airborne autonomous technologies..
